Neil was a fantastic driving teacher throughout my learning journey and made the process of learning to drive a breeze. Having put off getting my driving license for almost 10 years, I passed my test first time thanks to Neil’s excellent instruction. In every lesson he was calm, patient, knowledgeable and willing to answer any question I could think of. After four months of lessons I felt totally ready to pass. Neil was an excellent instructor. I came to these lessons with a lot of pessimism having had a long background of driving failures over the years. Neil immediately made me feel at ease and confident that we could take as much time as needed for me to be comfortable with driving after an 8 year break. He struck a perfect balance between taking the time to explain and practice in safe surroundings whilst building my confidence enough that despite my reservations before the first lesson, I was able to drive around town like no time had passed and with more confidence than ever before. Neil is highly professional, extremely patient and one of the calmest people I have ever met. Even when I started a lesson with intense work related stress ( including the one on the day of my practical driving test!) he had a way of helping me so I was able to be calm enough to focus on the driving. I am fairly certain that there is no way I would have passed my test and so quickly with any other instructor and I really couldn’t recommend Neil highly enough. Neil got me through my test in just nine lessons with no faults! I had a little prior driving experience but Neil was great identifying any areas that needed improvement and we focused on these as the lessons progressed. One he was confident in my ability to pass my test which was a couple of months down the line we took a small break from lessons which I think is testament to his focus on actually getting his students through their test and not just trying to book as many lessons as possible. Neil was patient, concise and really easy to understand. We got Neil to help our Daughter to learn to drive. She felt automatic was the way to go. She was extremely anxious before she got started but Neil was amazing. Neil is a great driving instructor. Due to his calm and patient demeanor learning to drive seemed to become a very natural process. I wholeheartedly recommend Neil to anyone learning to drive. He is very experienced and patient, he made a structured lesson plan to help me improve my skills shortly after my first assessment lesson. I was able to pass my test in one go following his instructions and he also showed me tips about safe driving that are very valuable when learning to drive.
Neil made me feel at ease immediately and gave me the confidence in my driving which I needed to pass my test. I did not feel any pressure to do any more lessons than I needed to and he guided me to making the right decision to pass the test in my own car.

I was apprehensive choosing a driving instructor as many of my friends had chosen to do manual tests and i didn’t have any recommendations. However, when I contacted Neil at GoAuto and subsequently had my first lesson my fears were immediately alayed. Neil’s mild manner and diligent approach to improving and focusing on areas of need really shined through during our lessons. He quickly imparted the confidence I needed to take my test much sooner than I expected and I passed first time too. I couldn’t recommend Neil and GoAuto highly enough, perfect in every way.
I was learn how to driving and want to get an automatic driving license because I found it easier than the manual one. While going to the supermarket with my Husband and seeing the GoAuto sign on top of the car with the phone number so I go home and call this number and meet Neil. From the beginning until the end of the passed test Neil was very helpfull, he show me, teaching me everything’s that I should know to make sure that I pass the test. Through all he was very calm and special and make it so easy for me as English is my second language.
Where to start? I was nervous, scared, terrified to drive at first even though excited to learn. Neil helped me feel confident to drive and was so patient and calm and understands how you may feel when you first learn to drive. He takes you through every step when you are ready and you build all the skills you need for how to be safe on the road. I came away from each lesson feeling more accomplished to the point where when I had my exam day I knew I felt ready to pass. Neil caters his lessons to you. You can’t go wrong with learning to drive with GoAuto.

I had severe anxiety over driving, after a history of seizures and not so pleasant experience with driving lessons in the past, I really struggled to convince myself to reach out to another instructor. After seeing Neil recommended on a Facebook group I decided to message. I explained I had awful driving anxiety and he assured me this is something he could happily work with. After only one lesson I felt at ease, in control, and calm behind the wheel. Neil was patient with me every step of the way, let me decide what I was and wasn’t ready to do and was always softly spoken and calm when instructing me. Neil would always explain in detail why certain movements in the care were necessary or easier and if I ever had any concerns he would ensure to work on them with me until I was confident. After 16 hours with Neil I passed my test first time. He was with me from 8am reminding me I can pass the test, giving me advice, keeping me calm and telling me he believed in me I am extremely grateful to Neil and do no believe I would have come so far without him, I highly recommend using his professional and person centered approach.
Having previously failed a test in Leeds, I moved to Harrogate so I had to take a new test in Knaresborough. Neil was adept at minimising the anxiety I felt driving on new roads and I passed after 4 lessons within which Neil taught me essentially from scratch having not driven in the best part of a year. Would highly recommend if you want to pass your test quickly and stress free.

Neil was great from start to finish! So much patience and always calm, unlike a lot of previous instructors I had been with. Always did a number of different road types and routes preparing me for everything. Was always flexible with days to work around my busy life. In general a nice easy going person always making you feel at ease. Got my test booked in as soon as we could with the long waiting list of test centres. With Neil I passed my theory and practical first time. I would definitely recommend to everyone.

He was always very supportive and organised, the quality of teaching and the structure of the driving lessons was outstanding, he always kept a record of the manoeuvres I had to improve so we knew where to put more focus on the next lessons. Passed my driving test in less than a month! Neil was very patient and supportive from start to finish, which really boosted my confidence and helped me pass on my first attempt. He was also very accommodating and happily worked around my schedule to ensure I had as much practice as possible before my exam. I’m so happy to meet Neil as my driving instructor. My good friend recommends him because she passed her driving test first time too. He’s very professional and friendly. He will teach you everything to make sure you are ready to pass your driving test. I was so scared to learn how to drive when I did manual lessons before but I didn’t pursue it after my previous instructor shouted at me. But when I met Neil he makes you feel comfortable by encouraging “you will pass your driving test, your doing fine” and when you make mistakes he will explain to you nicely and you will remember not to do that. It’s always been a pleasure to be his student and I will recommend him to all my friends and family.
Neil is well organised, professional and attends on time, always calm which helps the learner to be more focused and relaxed. Performs mock exam prior to the real test, with marking sheet, I have done the mock 2 days before the test and it showed my weaknesses so I worked on it and had the exam two days later and I passed from the first attempt, I would strongly recommend him.

I had tried 2 other driving instructors before finding Neil and both had left me feeling not confident at all, they were quite harsh in their teachings and approach and they both just didn’t feel like the right fit for me. It’s funny because I have driven for 18 years in the states yet both driving instructors made me feel like I didn’t know how to drive. I am so glad I found Neil to complete my lessons. He was so calm and courteous and made me feel so comfortable and confident when driving.
Unlike the other 2 instructors who “text” you when they arrive and you have to search for where they are, Neil always greeted me at my door and walked me to the car, I was so impressed by such a small but standout gesture. He took the driving test from being this big scary thing with lots of pressure around it to making it seem like easy, no pressure, it’s not as bad as you think. So he changed my mindset and really helped bring out my confidence. His kind and calm energy is exactly what was needed while learning and I cannot recommend him highly enough.
